The calving season at Ndutu area is a major highlight to look up during your safari in Tanzania, mostly the calving season at Ndutu beginning December to March .This is during the Wildebeest migration when wildebeest move to find the green pasture.
Over 8,000 wildebeest are given birth to in Ndutu area per day.A good location to enjoy the calving season in the area around Ndutu lake where other wildlife species can be also seen including predators like Lion, Cheetah, Leopard.

We will arrange to collect you from your hotel in Arusha and transport you to the Ndutu Area. After arriving, you'll check in before embarking on a thrilling game drive. The Ndutu region, nestled within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem, is known for its abundant population of elephants, diverse bird species, and various resident wildlife.
After breakfast, collect lunch boxes and on this day, you will take time to enjoy and learn how animals survive in the wilderness during calving season, of which during this period thousands of wildebeest give birth to their young ones will hunted by deadly predators. Ndutu provide a best wildlife viewing during the green season, which is around December up to March, ndutu is found on the southern part of Serengeti plains where around 8000 wildebeest babies are born every day, there area is mostly covered by forest of acacia trees, also Ndutu is the best place to spot six species of cat – leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, African wildcat and serval.
The excitement for today will be quite high as you make your way into the most celebrated wildlife park in the world – The Serengeti. After finishing up a good breakfast, you will have morning game drives in Ndutu before departing towards the Serengeti National Park by late morning. Serengeti, means endless plains in the local African language and watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is an absolutely breathtaking view. With an overall land area of 14,763 Sq Kms, It puts our notion about distance to shame.
You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive. Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. You will explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti - known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park.
We'll set off in the morning right after breakfast, heading towards the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, where we'll descend by 10 AM. Following our exploration, we'll journey back to Arusha and ensure you're dropped off at the airport, ready to catch your flight home or to your next exciting destination.
