Overview
Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain at 4,566 meters and offers one of East Africa’s most rewarding trekking experiences. Located within Arusha National Park, the trek provides stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, diverse wildlife encounters, and beautiful landscapes ranging from lush forests to alpine deserts.

Tour Plan
After breakfast, drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park for registration and trek briefing. Accompanied by an armed ranger, begin the trek through open grasslands and montane forest where wildlife is frequently seen.
The trail gradually ascends to Miriakamba Hut. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hut.

- Distance: 10 km
After breakfast, continue trekking through the forest zone and into the heath and moorland vegetation. Enjoy spectacular views of Meru Crater and Ash Cone along the route.
Arrive at Saddle Hut in the afternoon. After lunch, an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) can be undertaken before returning to the hut for dinner and overnight.

- Distance: 8 km
Wake up shortly after midnight and begin the final ascent to Socialist Peak, the summit of Mount Meru. Reach the summit at sunrise and enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains.
After celebrating at the summit, descend back to Saddle Hut for brunch before continuing down to Momella Gate. Meet your driver and transfer back to Arusha.
