About Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's most picturesque wildlife destinations, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Covering approximately 330 km², the park combines lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and the alkaline Lake Manyara itself.

The park is renowned for its famous tree-climbing lions, large elephant populations, troops of baboons, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and over 400 bird species. During certain times of the year, thousands of flamingos gather along the lake's shores, creating one of Tanzania's most beautiful wildlife spectacles.
