Mount Meru (4,566m) is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and one of Africa’s most scenic trekking destinations. Located in Arusha National Park, this adventure offers stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The 4-day itinerary allows for a more comfortable pace and better acclimatization before reaching the summit

Tour Plan
After breakfast, transfer to Momella Gate for registration and a trek briefing. Begin your hike through open grasslands and montane forest accompanied by an armed ranger. Along the way, you may encounter giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, and various monkey species.
Arrive at Miriakamba Hut in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

- Distance: 10 km
After breakfast, continue your ascent through lush forest into the heath and moorland zone. Enjoy beautiful views of Meru Crater and Ash Cone as the landscape changes dramatically.
Arrive at Saddle Hut for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) before returning to the hut.

- Distance: 8 km
Wake up shortly after midnight and begin the summit ascent. Reach Rhino Point and Cobra Point before arriving at Socialist Peak in time for sunrise. Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Meru Crater, and the surrounding plains.
After spending time at the summit, descend to Saddle Hut for brunch and continue to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

- Distance: 13 km
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely descent through the forest to Momella Gate. Receive your trekking certificate before meeting your driver for the transfer back to Arusha.
